This is one of our all-time favorites, a bit noisy at times due to busses and traffic on the street below, but the fresh quality food and fantastic service makes up for it. Smoked Marlin Tostadas are the best in Vallarta. This is s small family run place, staff has not changed in years. Right on the edge of the Romantic Zone, just a short walk from the Flea Market and Caule Island Shops. Best Shrimp or Combination Seafood Cocktails with big giant shrimps, so fresh & clean.
Best thing on the menu: Shrimp Perita Style sautéed with bacon, mushrooms, onion, garlic topped with cheese served with toasted baguette and tortillas- I have never seen this dish anywhere else or even heard of it before - but I always get it here at least once on every trip to PV. Best Margaritas too, served in a big Scooner glass with plenty of ice, I know we hear this claim a lot, but these are truly the best, each one handmade fresh to order. This is mainly a seafood place, but they do have beef & chicken fajitas and a great burger...so there's that. You can choose from several different preparations for your choice of fish or shrimp including: Perita, Diabla, Veracruz, Sauté in Garlic (Mojo de Ajo), Grilled, Broiled. Menu is very simple to understand: choose what you want and how you want it prepared, then enjoy your selection! You will not be disappointed
PS
this place is a Gem; I really don't understand why it is not packed all the time! -

The grilled shrimp was very well prepared, but everything else was mediocre or worse. The 'ceviche' used ground fish and was cooked... the worst I've ever had anywhere. The sides were bland and overcooked, except for the rice, which was bland and undercooked. I politely told the server that I didn't care for the ceviche and he took it off of the bill without my asking. Overall... Could be much worse but you'd be a fool to eat here in a town with so many great options. Don't be that fool.

This place is so good, I came back several times. This second floor restaurant is easy to overlook in one of the busiest intersections in old town. But there is a surprisingly calm atmosphere above all the street hustle and bustle. The service was super friendly and the food was fresh and tasty. In my opinion, this is Mexican food at its best. Not overly complicated or sauced, the flavours of the ingredients were allowed to shine. The garlic shrimp dish was, honestly, the best I've ever tasted. Paired with their house white wine (an excellent Chilean Sauvignon Blanc), this meal delivered far above its very reasonable price.
Find it kitty corner to the Pharmecia Guadalajara. -

We had come to this place over several years and each time at 6 PM it was rather empty. We could not figure out why. Staffing was light but it was fine for our table of 10. Fish and seafood are the way to go at this place with ceviche and fish options being what we like. Shrimp and fish combo was especially popular. After dinner they offer after dinner drinks and they might not hit the spot. Mint was a favorite. I expect we will go back the next time we are in town

This place was recommended to us by a sales guy at the beach selling trips. It's a few blocks away from the beach but within walking distance. OMG! The food was AMAZING! We are o my here for a day or else we would keep coming back. If I ever return to Puerto Vallarta, I'll DEFINITELY be back! Muchas gracias Restaurante San Lucas. Su comida está deliciosa!
